When we first got married, Brad and I picked out a bedroom set from Ikea. Now, you all know I have nothing against Ikea, but I do regret that decision for two reasons. First being that the set is too matchy-matchy for my taste, and I would like a more eclectic look. And secondly, our main incentive for buying them was because they were cheap and not because we were in love with the look (well maybe Brad was, but I wasn’t sold).
Anyways, the nightstands became pretty beaten up on our move to California, and it’s about time to replace them. So I have begun my search for the perfect nightstands. My idea of “perfect” includes at least a drawer for storage and maybe an open shelf on the bottom (I don’t want them to feel too grounded in the space, but rather have a lighter, airier feel). Something along these lines isn’t too difficult to find, but my last criteria is they have to be affordable, and that always limits the selection a bit.
Honestly, I would love to find some nightstands from a garage sale or antique store, so I’m keeping my eyes peeled. Here are some ideas of what I’m looking for...
As you can see, I’m not too picky. I’m open to wood, white, or even mirrored finishes. Do you know of any great sources for affordable nightstands? Please share in the comments!
